The FRAM story began over three decades ago with a family legacy brought to North America by the company’s Chairman and Founder, John Giannone. John is the third generation to rise up in a prominent, family-owned general contracting business in his native Southern Italy. At a young age, he began following his father around building sites learning construction skills from project start to finish until he became a principal in the company.

Ready for new challenges, John immigrated to Canada in 1958. Within a year, he formed a masonry company with family and friends from Italy. Over the next twenty-five years, based on a reputation of honesty and top-quality work, it grew to be one of the largest masonry companies in Toronto. When his son, Frank, received an engineering degree, John decided a return to residential homebuilding would provide greater opportunities for his children.

In 1981, John founded FRAM Building Group and named the company on behalf of his children Frank, Ralph, Antonietta and Mariana – all of whom have joined FRAM to continue John’s legacy under Frank’s progressive vision and leadership as President.

Today, now a fifth-generation operation, FRAM has built over 13,000 residences from custom homes to exceptional single-family homes, multi-family condominiums and rental homes as well as mixed-use and commercial properties. The mandate to design, develop and build sustainable communities is achieved through a combination of high standards in urban planning, building design and materials, and supported by attention to quality of place and programming. With innovative project management techniques and an extended after-sales customer service program to ensure owner’s expectations are met, FRAM attributes 40 percent of its new home sales to repeat buyers or referrals.
